The 500ml bottles from Bradfield Brewery are classed as Gluten Free because tests have concluded that they contain less than 10 parts per million of gluten.
For clarification, these beers have been produced with gluten containing ingredients, we do use barley, as can be clearly seen listed ‘in bold’ on the ingredients list.
However, we use an enzyme called Delta Brew as part of the brewing process, which reduces the gluten to below the 20ppm threshold required to label a product as gluten free.
This means our bottled beers brewed in this way can be safe to drink for those who are sensitive to gluten. This has no effect on the taste of the beer and is not in any way detrimental to the flavour.
Each and every batch of our bottled beers are tested to check the gluten content by an accredited laboratory.
Our Beers in 330ml Bottles and the 5l Mini Kegs have not been treated with Delta Brew and are therefore not classed as Gluten Free.
