Irish Dexter Back amongst the Seasonal Herd!

Farmers Irish Dexter returns to our cask ale line up for March 2018, it’s 12th year appearance as a seasonal contender.

This sweet malty ale inherits its name from the Dexter breed of cattle originating from Ireland – a perfect combination for a brew to celebrate St Patrick’s Day!

Deep dark red in colour the beer fits well in character with the Black, Red and Brown colourings of Dexter cattle,

At 4.8% abv it’s a session ale fit for the hardy real ale drinkers – timing perfectly on the schedule to compliment watching the Six Nations down the pub with the rest of the herd!

The Pump clip has had a face lift too! Check out the new design!

Farmers Blonde scoops another Industry Award!

Farmers Blonde has been awarded Bronze in the Cask Bitters & Pale Ales category at SIBA’s North East Independent Beer Regional Awards 2017.

The prestigious awards, run by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) at the “B-Fest” Beer, Blues & Folk festival held at the Barbican Centre in York, are judged by brewers and beer experts and seen very much as the ‘brewers choice’ awards in the industry.

The competition is entered by breweries from the whole of Yorkshire, as well as Humberside, Cleveland, Durham, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland.

The “B-Fest” Beer, Blues & Folk Festival featured 200 of the region’s best independent beers, served through 40 rotating handpulls, alongside local craft cider, street food and live music from top local bands. The SIBA North East Region’s “Independent Beer Awards” were judged immediately before the festival opened its doors, locals were the first to try the best-of-the-best beers from the competition.

The Brewery’s Hand Reared Dray Horse – Update on progress!

We are pleased to report that our hand reared Heavy Horse foal is fairing well in his Dray Horse training with our friends at Warwickshire Shire Horses.

Decade, born at the brewery in May 2015 and named after a decade of Brewing at the farm, left the Brewery last year to begin his dray training.

Working alongside his half brother Jack, Decade is enjoying his new pastures and has settled into the dray life with amazing ease and comfort.

Decade is pictured here having a visit from the Gill family during the Bakewell Show event which he was attending with his fellow horse colleagues in the Shirehorse enclosure

Bradfield Brewery Sponsors Malin Motor Bodies in Silverstone Classic

Bradfield Brewery were proud to sponsor Tony Shirtcliffe of Malin Motor Bodies in this year’s Silverstone Classic – The World’s greatest Historic Race Festival.

Tony was in attendance with his Austin A35 classic, which was also raced by celebrity Wayne Gardener as part of the three day festival.

More than 100,000 spectators enjoyed the classic motor racing festival where Twenty-two races featured iconic cars spanning more than eight decades of history

Once again the event was a record breaker which raised a significant amount of money for its nominated charity Prostate Cancer UK.

Landlady of the Bradfield Brewery Tap, Megan Packham attended the event on behalf of Bradfield Brewery with Tony’s son John Shirtcliffe, and had a fantastic time, cheering Tony on over the finish line!

Take A Look – we’ve only gone and produced a Book!

Now in our 12th year of brewing we thought it was maybe time to share our story.

We’ve gone from milking 100 cows a day to brewing 100,000 pints of beer a week and we have a lot of stories to tell from the journey!

The book also features mouth watering recipes from lifelong friends at the famous Magpie Café in Whitby – our Farmers Ales are a great match for dishes made from a fresh Whitby catch!

Published by RMC media, Mine’s a Pint is available to purchase from our Brewery Shop and online via Ebay.

Tour De Yorkshire Finish at Fox Valley Sheffield

Fox Valley Sheffield was host to the grand finale of Tour De Yorkshire 2017 and we were delighted to be invited to the show!

We were that excited decided to do a new Brew to celebrate!

Farmers Push Iron was named after the Yorkshire term often used for a bicycle – we thought quite a fitting name!

The brew went down a treat and was enjoyed by spectators and participants and a great day was had by everyone involved!
