If you’re fancying a pint of Farmers at one of our Brewery Taps, you won’t be disappointed!
All 3 of our Brewery Pubs are now open, with indoor and outdoor seating available in all 3 venues.
With Farmers Ales at just £3.00 a pint, we look forward to welcoming customers back to our family and dog friendly pubs!
The Nags Head Inn at Loxley & at the King & Miller in Deepcar also serve some good homemade grub if you fancy a bite to eat, and we’ve got a great range of bar snacks on offer at the Wharncliffe Arms.
Our 500th Brew, Celebrated last year with with the release of a new Brew, Farmers 5K, proved to be a big hit! So much so that it’s made it into Bottle range!
Available permanently in 500ml bottles, this 5% abv IPA style brew is brewed using 5 different hops and 5 different malts to create a well hopped and nicely balanced IPA.
That most wonderful time of the year is drawing nearer and with that comes the launch of our popular Christmas Ale, Farmers Belgian Blue!
The first pints of the ‘official’ 2020 Brew will be served from our 3 Brewery Pubs on the 29th October.
Whilst some things are very different this year, our traditional festive tipple will remain very much the distinctive winter brew that many look forward to!
Farmers Belgian Blue will then be available in 5litre Mini Kegs from the Brewery Shop from Friday 30th October, with it then being available for delivery to pubs in cask from Monday 2nd November.
The 5000th brew has kick started a return to the seasonal ale Calendar for us at Bradfield Brewery. After the great success of our 5k Brew and keen interest in our seasonal ale availability from both the pubs and our fans at home, we’ve decided that the rest of the Seasonal Ale line up for 2020 WILL go ahead!
So next up is Farmers Jack-O-Lantern, a popular Autumnal seasonal ale, lightly hopped and amber coloured at 4.5%. This will be available from 5th October in 9 & 18gallon cask with the 5 litre mini kegs to follow shortly after.
Whilst there may not be any remembrance event gatherings being held this year, it will not stop us commemorating our fallen soldiers with our Farmers Poppy Ale. 10pence from every pint sold of this fruity golden ale is donated to the Royal British Legion and will be available in 9 & 18gallon casks from mid-October, with 5 litre mini kegs available shortly after.
Whilst we’ve been busy running the covid curveball gauntlet, we have not forgotten an all important Milestone coming our way! The 14th of September saw our 5000th Brew take place and we hope you’ll agree, that’s something to celebrate.
Now usually we’d all just be saying ‘lets put a do’ on’, but let’s face it, we shouldn’t really be encouraging crowd gatherings at the moment so we’ve thought of a different way to mark the occasion!
This momentous brew will be celebrated with a 24 hour brewathon which will take place on the 24th September, and we’ll be live streaming the event for all to enjoy! Brewers Sam, Bruce and Kieran will begin the Brewathon at 5pm on the 24th and finish at 5pm on Friday 25th September.
With our seasonal calendar being turned upside down, we had planned for a brand new Brew in May this year, using our very own, home grown hops. Not wanting these hops to go to waste and with the milestone brew coming up, it lended us the opportunity to go forth and deliver!
So with our homegrown hops included, the brew will be made using 5 different hops, 5 different malts and if you’ve not guessed it, the beer will be 5%abv.
And now you’re thinking, what’s the charity, where should I donate? Well here’s the thing, we’re not asking you to donate a penny, this one’s just for fun and will leave your pockets alone! But we’d still like you to be involved so we’ll be live streaming the whole thing for you to join in at any time.
Whilst we can’t invite so many to come and have a drink with us, that doesn’t stop us getting a round in! So to complete the celebration, we will be giving away 5 celebratory gift packs which will include a mini keg of our 5k Brew. Further details on how to be in with a chance to win to follow!
It’s not every year we enter into a new decade so we’re celebrating
with a brand new brew!!
An idea for a new brew was formed when the brewers were having
a light hearted discussion about 2020 should be the year for crystal clear
beer, like crystal clear 2020 vision. The idea for the pump clip was aptly formed
with the brewers then putting their thinking caps on for the recipe!
Farmers 2020 Ale will be available from the 13th
January – ideal timing for all those participating in the #tryanuary campaign! A
light pale medium hopped beer was the brewer’s choice for this new brew, which
we believe will be a big hit with our Farmers Ale fans!
Starting the year off with a low abv beer has always been a Bradfield
Brewery trait, this year being no different with our first seasonal ale being a
modest 3.5%abv.
The beer will be exclusively available at our 3 brewery taps from Friday 11th January before being available in cask to other outlets from Monday 3th January.
Thursday 21st November saw the re-opening of the Wharncliffe Arms, following Bradfield Brewery’s acquisition of the pub back in September.
Now the third Brewery Tap for Bradfield Brewery, the Wharncliffe Arms features a selection of cask ales from the Farmers Ales range produced by the brewery from just £2.50 a pint, as well as a great selection of fine wines, spirits and soft drinks.
The pub was
previously renowned for its community feel and friendly atmosphere and this is
something the Brewery are keen to reinstate.
Manageress Bethany Hartley will be taking the reins and is looking forward to welcoming customers old and new.
It has also been confirmed that in line with an age old tradition, Christmas Village Carols will take place on Sundays in the run up to Christmas, with Andrew Durdy taking his usual seat at the organ.

Christmas
arrives early for Bradfield Brewery fans – Belgian Blue is available once more!
Every year
since it was first produced in 2005, this seasonal ale has grown in popularity
and this year is gearing up to be the best yet! Farmers Belgian Blue is a 4.9%
ABV ale with Christmas berry overtones and a slight blue tint to the head,
making it a well loved and distinctive winter warmer.
This year’s first barrels of Belgian Blue will be exclusively available at the Brewery’s pubs The Nags Head and the King & Miller, from 4pm on Thursday 31st October
Farmers Belgian Blue was first created in 2005, the year Bradfield Brewery began operating. Setting our sights high with a wish to create an unusual festive brew that everyone would love as much as Christmas itself, ideas began forming and this unusual but charming brew was created.
The name of the festive ale was an obvious choice, following on with the Famers Ale theme and naming our ales with different cattle breeds – the Belgian Blue breed sprung to mind with talk of a slight blue tint to the head, and there it was born – Farmers Belgian Blue.
Belgian Blue is available in bottles and 5 litre mini kegs from Bradfield Brewery’s on-site shop from 1st November. It will be available in cask from Monday 4th November.
The shop opening hours are 8am-4pm Monday to Friday and 10am-4pm on Saturdays.
The shop will also be opening 10am-2pm on Sundays and until 7pm on Thursday and Fridays, throughout December, up to Christmas.
December is also your chance to try before you buy with sampling weekends taking place, 10am-4pm on Saturdays and 10am-2pm on Sundays, throughout December.
Sheffield based Bradfield Brewery have taken ownership of
the Wharncliffe Arms Public House situated in Wharncliffe Side, Sheffield.
The pub was put on the market for sale in July 2019 after a
short period of closure. Bradfield Brewery, having a keen interest in
traditional style community public houses, vested their interest and
subsequently were successful in the purchase of the property.
With contracts now exchanged, the brewery are keen to get
the doors open and give a warm welcome to customers old and new.
Shortly to become the third Brewery Tap for Bradfield
Brewery, the Wharncliffe Arms will feature a selection of cask ales from the
Farmers Ales range produced by the brewery, as well as a great selection of
fine wines, spirits and soft drinks.
The pub was previously renowned for its community feel and
friendly atmosphere and this is something the Brewery will be keen to reinstate.
Operating a public house venue is not something new for
Bradfield Brewery who have enjoyed over a decade of success at their original Brewery
Tap, The Nags Head at Loxley as well as continued success with their more
recent acquisition, the King and Miller at Deepcar.
Bradfield Brewery is based on a busy working farm in the
picturesque village of Bradfield in Sheffield. Since brewing their first cask
ale in 2005, the brewery has grown from strength to the strength with their Farmers
Ale range now available in outlets nationwide.
John Gill, Director at Bradfield Brewery, on the acquisition
said “We are excited at the opportunity to serve another local community with a
traditional style public house which will offer great ales in a friendly
atmosphere. We strongly believe that traditional pubs should remain a part of
our society and we are pleased to have secured this opportunity to bring this
offering to the local community of Wharncliffe Side”.
The Wharncliffe Arms will be re-opening soon, with a date
yet to be confirmed. The Brewery will be
recruiting for a ‘live in’ manager for the day to day running of the pub. For
